Hungarian Vizsla Club of Victoria Ninth Championship Show

Judge:  Mrs. S. Marshall (Vic.)

I would like to thank the Club for a most enjoyable afternoon.  It was a pity the rain couldn’t have held off a little longer but we got through most of the judging.  I was impressed with the quality of the dogs and found some of my final decisions very close.  The dogs were presented in excellent condition and handled well.

I thank the exhibitors for accepting my decisions in a sportsmanlike manner and I thank you for your entry.

I wish you all the best with your dogs in the future.

Baby Puppy Dog

3 entries.

1st: Townley, Trinka & Walter's
Aceweis Red N Hot

A very smart upstanding young baby, clean in outline, great strength and hindquarters covered ground for a baby.  Handled well.  A promising baby.

2nd: Clow's
Magyar Golden Dynasty

This baby was very difficult to assess due to its performance - being a baby.

Minor Puppy Dog

2 entries.

1st: Marsden's
Erdos Indiana Jones

A very showy young man, very clean in outline, good colour, but felt he needed a little more substance.

2nd: Gulliver & Oates'
Magyar Saphire Becool

This boy had very strong bone, well ribbed back and had a good nose and pigment.

Puppy Dog

2 entries, 1 absent.

1st: French & Bailey's
Nari Past Present Future

This fellow didn’t want to perform in his class but got better as the day went.  Good bone, overall strength with a deep chest and correct topline.

Junior Dog

4 entries, 1 absent.

1st: Cragg's
Hungargunn Too Funky Fme

A big dog, very clean in outline, correct topline and tailset.  Excellent bone and moved well, very sound.  Powerful hindquarter.  Will need time to settle down and mature.

2nd: Graebrook Kennels'
Graebrook Golden Blade

This boy is a good size and has a beautiful outline and on the move covers plenty of ground.

3rd: Gulliver & Oates'
Rosanoff Murri

Found this boy to have a lovely kind eye and a dark eye.  Very good bone and feet.

Intermediate Dog

8 entries.
A lovely class to judge.

1st: Auricht's
Ch. Rozsda Copper Shadrach

This dog caught my eye the minute he came into the ring and didn’t let me down at all.  He is a well balanced dog with good bone.  Lovely head piece, good length of neck, well ribbed back and in fabulous condition.  On the move he covered ground but tended to roll a little over the shoulders which in my final decision for challenge lost him the award.  A very nice dog.  I awarded him Reserve C.C.

2nd: Harris'
Ch. Hanafor Bendick Murrell

Again a very nice type of dog.  Good head piece, lovely neck on to shoulders and correct topline.  Very powerful hindquarter but not as angled in front as my first dog.

3rd: Graebrook Kennels'
Graebrook The Archangel

This dog is a very strong dog a little stronger than my first two, good bone, well muscled in excellent condition.  He covered the ground well on the move.

Australian Bred Dog

3 entries.

1st: Elessar Kennels'
Ch. Hanafor Caveat Reiffel

Another strong dog with plenty of bone, deep in chest and very well ribbed back.  Flow of neck pleasing and a lovely clean topline.  A little wide in front.

2nd: Gregory's
Sagax Jump The Gun

Another good boned dog, lovely colour and found he covered plenty of ground on the move.

3rd: King's
Hanafor Ravell Skilarchi

Good feet, well ribbed.  Not the quality of the other two.

Open Dog

4 entries.

1st: Harris'
Ch. Hanafor Benbold Hunter

This was another dog that caught my eye.  Very strong, well balanced, beautiful head piece, lovely arched neck flowing on to correct topline and tailset.  Correct height and lovely rich colour.  Very sound and lovely to watch on the move.  Performed well for handler.  Challenge dog & Runner/Up to Best in Show

2nd: O'Malley's
Gr. Ch. Hanafor Master Callaway

Another wonderful dog in excellent condition.  A bigger dog than my winner, lovely head, clean outline beautiful neck and correct topline.  A lovely picture on the move.

3rd: Clow's
Magyar Golden Apollo

A well boned dog with a pleasing head.  Lovely tight feet.

Veteran Dog

 7 entries, 1 absent.

1st: Harris’
Ch. Hanafor Kytoff Chtcherbo

A seven year old dog, handled well and in excellent condition.  Good head, clean topline and correct tailset.  Very powerful hindquarter which he used when he moved covering the ground.  A very nice type.

2nd: Orzeszko's
Ch. Hanafor Master Gyles C.D.

Again this type was a very nice type, not as well angled as my 1st dog but pleasing overall.  Very nice head piece.  A much more moderate dog overall.

3rd: Elessar Kennels'
Ch. Sigwald Cope C.D.

This lovely old boy is nearly 10 years old and still in very good condition.  Lovely type, good on the stack but not as neat on the move.

Baby Puppy Bitch

6 entries, 1 absent.

1st: Gregory's
Sagax Ma Vie En Rose

A real pretty little girl with great temperament.  A little bit naughty but I forgave that.  Moved well for a baby.  A promising youngster.

2nd: Clow's
Magyar Golden Diamonds

This baby was very hard to assess but found her to be well angled in front.

3rd: Brooks'
Brozak Diamonds Forever

Once again it was hard to assess this baby.  She has a pleasing head and good bone.

Junior Bitch

A very nice class overall.

1st: Cragg's
Hungargunn Unforgettable

This was a very pretty bitch with great attitude.  She has a beautiful headpiece, well angled front and rear, correct topline not quite as good in the feet.  Well handled.

2nd: Marsden & O'Malley's
Erdos Eleanora

Another pretty bitch who let herself and her handler down on the day.  Well angled in front with strength in hindquarters, lovely topline, moved well.

3rd: Franke's
Hanafor Wynter Delight

Again very pretty.  Correct topline and tailset, covered the ground well on the move.  Not as good in front as the other two.

Intermediate Bitch

1 entry

1st: Harris & Stading's
Ch. Kimlise Isobella Ximenex

Only one in this class and a very pretty bitch.  She has a very pleasing head, beautifully balanced, lovely on the move covering plenty of ground and sound.  Just didn’t quite give its owner her all.  Unlucky on the day.

Australian Bred Bitch

 6 entries, 2 absent.

1st: O'Malley, Smith & Auricht's
Ch. Rozsda Copper Kislany

head.  Well balanced front and rear with lovely depth of chest.  Clean in topline and correct tailset.  Handler didn’t hold tail on stack but bitch carried it well on the move.  Reserve Challenge.

2nd: Cragg's
Ch. Hungargunn Eurythmic

Another pleasing bitch quite a bit of difference in size to my winner.  Clean in outline, well balanced, powerful hindquarters good prosternum, not as neat in front as 1st.

3rd: Clow's

A strong bitch with pleasing head.  Well ribbed back with good depth of chest.  In good condition.

Open Bitch

5 entries, 1 absent.

1st: Harris'
Ch. Jasmegon Rasabee Joanna

What a classy bitch with an effortless gait.  Beautiful type.  Clean in outline, good length, correct height, lovely arched neck flowing into well angled shoulders.  Topline and tailset correct.  Hindquarters well angled.  Looked just as good on the move as she did standing naturally.  A clear winner in this class and would have been hard to beat.  Challenge Bitch, Best in Show.

2nd: French's
Ch. Nari Mema Vega

This bitch was similar in type to my 1st place and won the class on the move as she did not stack well.  Clean in outline.

3rd: Marsden & O'Malley's
Ch. Hanafor Red Red Rose

This bitch was very showy and handled very well.  Good bone and depth of chest.  Not as clean in topline as 1st and 2nd.

Veteran Bitch

4 entries.

1st: French's
Ch. Hanafor Kytoff Tatyana

A seven year old bitch who was lovely type, well balanced in good condition.  On the move she covered ground well.

2nd: Wiltshire's
Ch. Hanafor Kytoff Egerszegi

Also a seven year old who was well boned, good feet for her age strong hindquarter but not as good in front.

3rd: Orzeszko's
Ch. Humeden Classic Melody

This middle aged lady just did not want to be here.  She has good bone and feet, pleasing head with lovely eye and colour.
