Hungarian Vizsla Club of Victoria 11th Open Show

Judge:  Mr. J. Weekes (Vic.)

Thank-you again for the opportunity to judge at your Open Show, I enjoyed my judging and the excellent quality of the dogs I had before me.  The chances of judging the Breed Specialist clubs certainly I feel has given me a better quality of dogs to learn about, than at All Breeds Open shows.

Baby Puppy Dog

2 entries.

1st:  Harris'
Hanafor Cherwyn Charles

Lovely youngster, good size and length, pleasing head, good bone and depth in body.  Clean topline which he carried well on the move, moved freely with drive.

2nd: Harris'
Hanafor Cherwyn Rupert

Another promising baby, a little longer cast than the first place getter, but well boned and again good depth in body.  Head good, a little looser on the move today.

Minor Puppy Dog

No entries.

Puppy Dog

No entries.

Junior Dog

1 entry.

1st: Wittick's
Wimballah Mr Shadowshift

Just over a year old, this dog was quite mature in body, and a little longer, and not as deep as others on the day.  He had a clean, good head, and moved well.

Intermediate Dog

2 entries, absent.

Australian Bred Dog

2 entries.

1st: Orzeszko's
Ch. Hanafor Master Gyles C.D.

Strong outlined, well muscled dog.  Good balanced body, and good depth.  Very good head, clean and not too much wrinkle.  Head well proportioned, moved well, holding his topline when gaiting.

2nd: Harris'
Ch. Hanafor Bendick Murrell

Again, well muscled dog, but a heavier build than the first dog.  Longer in cast, but still had good depth, overall not as well balanced as the first dog.  Did not move as free as the winner.

Open Dog

2 entries.

1st: Harris'
Ch. Hanafor Benbold Hunter

Good sized dog, well balanced overall.  A pleasing head, with that noble look. Well boned, with very good front and rear construction.  Moved effortlessly around the ring like he owned it, very free flowing with excellent drive.  Just a little soft in the back on the day.  Best Dog & R/U Best in Show.

2nd: Gregory's
Sagax Jump The Gun

This boy was a little heavier in build than the first placegetter, and not as well balanced.  Heavier overall also meant his head was not as good as the first dog.  Good coat, did not gait as well on the day.

Veteran Dog

3 entries.

1st: Elessar Kennels'
Ch. Hanafor Caveat Reiffel

Strong upstanding dog, good balance and depth.  Masculine head, that was clean, moved very well for a seven year old, very fit looking dog.

2nd: Lindsay's
Ch. Willowbank Gundowring C.D.X., E.T.

Again, smart looking dog, but a little longer cast than the first boy, and not as heavily built.  Pleasing head, and again moved well for his age.

3rd: Elessar Kennels'
Ch. Sigwald Cope C.D.

Good typey looking dog, again longer than the first placegetter.  Head not as strong, and not as free on the move today.

Baby Puppy Bitch

1 entry.

1st:  Harris'
Hanafor Belfrayden Jane

Very pretty girl, good size and well balanced.  Good bone and depth.  Beautiful elegant head with a melting expression, good topline.  Moved freely with good drive, loved her.

Minor Puppy Bitch

1 entry.

1st:  Harris'
Hanafor Dot Ball

Good sized balanced puppy.  Well boned and good depth.  Very pretty feminine head and expression.  Covered ground well and held topline on the move.  A bit naughty on the day very close to awarding her Res Best Bitch.

Puppy Bitch

2 entries, 1 absent.

1st: Gregory's
Sagax Ma Vie En Rose

A taller girl than the others on the day, but good length in body.  Pleasing head with a sweet expression.  Good colour and moved well around the ring.

Junior Bitch

1 entry.

1st:  Yencken's
Nari Trouble And Strife

A little finer build than others, and longer in back.  But typey bitch, with an overall pleasing head and expression.  Moved well around the ring.

Intermediate Bitch

No entries.

Australian Bred Bitch

 1entry, absent.

Open Bitch

2 entries.

1st: Harris'
Ch. Jasmegon Rasabee Joanna

I loved my Open Dog until I saw this girl.  Good size and balance, stunning in profile stance.  Great front and rear, and good depth in body.  Lovely feminine head expression.  Moved effortlessly with powerful drive, lovely to see in action going around the ring.  Best Bitch & Best in Show.

2nd:  Cisera's
Ch. Hanafor Benbold Tamara C.D.X., T.D.

Heavier built bitch overall, not as well balanced as the first placegetter.  Pleasing head, and moved well around the ring.

Veteran Bitch

1 entry, absent.

Special Classes:

Best Brace

No entries.

Best Headed

1st:  Orzeszko's
Ch. Hanafor Master Gyles C.D.

As mentioned in his class critique, very good masculine head, clean which highlighted his noble expression.  Good eye and ear placement, very handsome boy.

Best Non-Champion

1st:  Harris'
Hanafor Dot Ball

Again as previously stated in her class win, good sized and well balanced puppy.  Very feminine head and expression, and moved well.

Best Gaited

1st:  Harris'
Hanafor Dot Ball

The winner covered the ground very well for a youngster and held her profile well as she moved around the ring, driving well.
