Baby Puppy Dog

5 entries.
A very even class of quality babies providing a very close competition.

1st: Miles'
Chambertin B Mine

A nice compact dog with a lovely head. A little bit loose in movement, as were all entries in this class, but this is to be expected at this age. Possessed good straight bone with cat feet, good tail set and outmoved the rest of the class.

2nd: Abbiestar Kennels’
Abbiestar Grimaldi

A slightly taller puppy than the winner but is three weeks older. Front assembly not quite as good as the winner, especially in the pasterns.

3rd: Abbiestar Kennels’
Abbiestar Galileo

A nice type of puppy who did his handler no favour with his naughtiness. As a result, at times this made apparent a looseness at elbow. With time and training I believe he will overcome this problem. Of all the exhibits in this class I consider he had the best hindquarter - especially his well let down hocks.

The remaining two exhibits (Abbiestar Kennels’ Abbiestar Gainsborough, Temple’s Hubertus Touch Of Gold) were both true to type but lacked the movement of the placegetters.

Minor Puppy Dog

No entries.

Puppy dog

5 entries, 1 absent.

1st: Harris’
Hanafor Bendick Murrell

This is a very promising young dog. Very sound on the move and very well put together. The elbows close to his body, bone straight, forearms long and pasterns upright and strong. The headpiece is immaculate with median line and the well squared tapering muzzle. The feet could be slightly tighter, however at this age this should be able to be corrected with the right exercise.

2nd: Pannett’s
Mirica Direct Action

A nice type of puppy. Compared to the winner I found his muzzle length to be equidistant with the skull and not sightly shorter as called for in the Standard. Did not move as well as the winner - he tended to ‘crab’ when in motion. I felt his stifles were straighter than the winners.

3rd: Applebee and Cragg’s
Hungargunn Mr Mister

When moving this dog tended to flick out his front left foot from the pastern and leaning into the handler when in motion. Would have liked better shoulder placement. Nice head, good cat feet and tail set.

4th: Abbiestar Kennels’
Abbiestar Viscount Arany

Nice head. Needs to drop his brisket a little and elbows not close enough to body with too much breadth in chest. Topline was roached both on stack and move.

Junior Dog

3 entries.

1st: Tokaji Kennels’
Hanafor Tan Torley

Good type. Lovely headpiece. Good forequarter. Topline level both on the stack and the move.

2nd: Harrison & Jackson’s
Gonnylde By Fig Leif

I felt this dog was slightly upright in shoulder. Not as square in muzzle as the winner. Tended to have a roached topline. The handler managed to correct this problem on the stack by running his hand up the back but was unable to correct the problem when moving.

3rd: Gebhart’s
Magyar Goldencosmic Czar

Was broad across the chest and lacked pro-sternum. The brisket not deep enough i.e. distance from chest to ground exceeded distance from withers to chest. Topline roached on both stack and move.

Intermediate Dog

5 entries, 1 absent.

1st: Harris’
Ch. Hanafor Benbold Hunter

A lovely dog of well balanced proportions. Exceptional head qualities. Conformation is excellent which allowed him to move effortlessly and truly front and rear. This was my Challenge Dog.

2nd: Abbiestar Kennels’
Ch. Abbiestar Aristotle

A dog with a nice headpiece. He was a fraction too long in body in my opinion to give correct balance and did not move as well as the winner.

3rd: Clow’s
Magyar Golden Apollo

This dog I also felt was over long to give correct balance. Didn’t move as well as 1st and 2nd. I liked his head and feet.

4th: Bole-Brown’s
Hanafor Inch Nacardoch C.D.

Coat colour not as rich as the placegetters, distracting from overall appearance. Was broader in chest than placegetters with elbows not close enough to chest. Topline was not level and tended to plait and weave when moving.

Australian Bred Dog

7 entries, 1 absent.
A very even class with very little between my first three placegetters.

1st: Pannett’s
Ch. Hanafor Caveat Carlyle C.D.

This dog had the perfect showring attitude - lively and he really showed his head off. This exhibit was the best moving dog in the class but was a fraction loose at elbow.

2nd: Elessar Kennels’
Ch. Hanafor Caveat Reiffel

A good type of dog. Tended to toe in a little on the move and stand with one front left hand toe slightly splayed. Was also quite close behind on the move.

3rd: Abbiestar Kennels’
Abbiestar Agamemnon C.D.

A little finer than the first two placings. Nice head. Front left leg not as straight in bone as I would like. Would like more pro-sternum. Shown in wonderful bloom.

4th: Harris’
Ch. Hanafor Kytoff Chtcherbo

A nice dog but he is starting to show his age a little. Lacked in the forequarter compared to the first three placegetters.

5th: Harrison & Jackson’s
Brenwick Keep Us Laughin

I didn’t like his head as much as those placed above him. A little loose in elbow. Too straight in stifle in my opinion.

6th: Lindsay’s
Ch. Willowbank Gundowring C.D.X., E.T.

Was too short in neck to be balanced. Moved with head low and hindquarters high.

Open Dog

7 entries, 2 absent.

1st: Graebrook Kennels’
Ch. Graebrook Bea Tilden

A beautiful dog with a glistening coat of russet gold. Lovely head. His temperament in the showring gave him the edge over his nearest rival. On the day he was the best ‘showman’. His off side elbow was loose and showed when he moved. Lovely pro-sternum with correct depth of chest. Lovely topline and rear angulation. Reserve Challenge Dog.

2nd: Orzeszko’s
Ch. Hanafor Master Gyles C.D.

A lovely specimen of the breed in great showring condition. On the day was a little sluggish in movement. Rear angulation not as good as the winner.

3rd: Tokaji Kennels’
Ch. Hanafor Simply Matyas

A nice type who I felt was a little wide in front and elbows not close enough to chest. On the move he crabbed quite badly, both back feet were actually tracking outside the front feet to the left hand side.

4th: Croatto’s
Ch. Kazia Beat The Drum

Did not give the impression of balance, being in my opinion short in neck, colour not as lustrous as the placegetters. Moved with head down.

5th: Cowman’s
Ch. Pretorium Kay K M A U.D., A.D.X.

As for 4th place.

Veteran Dog

1 entry.

1st: Elessar Kennel’s
Ch. Sigwald Cope C.D.

Typical but not competitive with the younger stock. Muzzle length and skull length equal is not as required in the Standard. The neck was short compared to the balancing proportions of the dog. Good bone in fore. Carrying some excess weight. Good rear angulation.

Challenge Dog

A lovely lineup. As good as in any breed that I have ever judged.
Ch Hanafor Benbold Hunter outmoved his competitors at this level to take the award. Reserve Challenge was Ch Graebrook Bea Tilden. Superb attitude but doesn’t move as well as winner and not as good in forequarter as winner.

Baby Puppy Bitch

4 entries.

1st: Foletta’s
Verzasca Gerra

A promising class with little separating them. This dog was better in the forequarter than her rivals.

2nd: Abbiestar Kennels’
Abbiestar Guggenheim

Slightly finer in bone than the winner.

3rd: Harris’
Kimlise Isobella Ximenex

Did not move as well as the first two.

4th: Miles’
Chambertin B Dazzled

Youngest in the class and a fraction wide across the chest and elbows not up against chest. However, she has type. On the day misbehaved.

Minor Puppy Bitch

1 entry.

1st: Graebrook Kennels’
Graebrook Dantes Suswa

Typical of the breed. Lovely movement in profile but tended to crab when coming and going. Good head and topline. A little weak in pastern from where she appeared to ‘toe out’.

Puppy Bitch

2 entries.

1st: Pannett’s
Mirica Drive Em Wild

A very nice bitch with good bone, feet and head. I would like a little more reach of neck.

2nd: Abbiestar Kennels’
Abbiestar Vanity Fair

Typey but I found her feet to be more harelike than the correct cat like foot. Has more width at chest with elbows carried out from chest. Has a sweeping hindquarter.

Junior Bitch

6 entries, 1 absent.

1st: Hayden’s
Ch. Gonnylde By Figonia

Typey bitch whose head finished off correctly in the muzzle. Would prefer to see her carrying a little less weight.

2nd: Graebrook Kennels’
Jackbrie Bonnie Lass

Nice type but tending to cut away a little in the muzzle. Did not move as well as the winner or ‘set up’ as well - wanted to prop forward slightly and is a little upright in shoulder.

3rd: Harrison & Jackson’s
Gonnylde By Fig Jam

A nice type of bitch, but the handler could not get the best from her - she seemed to control him.

4th: Clow’s
Magyar Goldencosmic Gem

Not moving well with the topline not holding straight, and did not carry her tail with any degree of happiness.

5th: Pannett’s
Mirica Chasing Rainbows

Did not want to move. Appeared a fraction short on leg.

Intermediate Bitch

7 entries, 2 absent.
Strong class.

1st: Harris’
Ch. Jasmegon Rasabee Joanna

Good type. Lovely head and reach of neck. Elbows could be closer to body. Good feet and was well balanced.

2nd: Applebee’s
Ch. Graebrook Calaco Kyziak

Slightly bigger and not as elegant as the winner and a little broad in chest for my liking. Good head and showed well.

3rd: Clow’s
Ch. Magyar Golden Amber

Finer than previous placers in the class. Good head. Broader in chest than I like. Elbows not close enough to the chest.

4th: Abbiestar Kennels’
Ch. Hanafor Benbold Kythira

Slightly upright in shoulder. Elbows not against the chest. On the move tended to ‘toe in’ at the front and ‘plait and weave’ when moving away.

5th: Welsh & Pali’s
Hubertus Penny Royal

Good in type. Quite fine and topline not as good as those placed ahead of her. Toes in on the move and when stacked. Also tended to ‘crab’ when on the move.

Australian Bred Bitch

3 entries.

1st: Harris’
Ch. Hanafor Benbold Tamara C.D.X.

Good type of bitch who won the class easily. Shoulders and brisket were her weaknesses, elbows not close enough to chest. Good feet. Shown in great bloom.

2nd: Croatto’s
Lianadam Philyria Miru

A smaller bitch than the winner. Lack of balance in the area of reach of neck. Did not move with the drive or reach of the winner.

3rd: Clow’s
Ch. Vadasz Kurtos Gyongye C.D.

This bitch was too masculine in head with deep flews extending too far below the bottom jaw for my liking. Also, her feet tended to be hare like with toes not tight enough and did not move as well as 1st and 2nd.

Open Bitch

5 entries, 3 absent.

1st: Harris’
Ch. Hanafor Benbold Deana

Head, type and topline very pleasing. Very sound which showed when moving. This bitch is all quality. She was my Challenge Bitch.

2nd: Harrison & Jackson’s
Ch. Nari Annie Oakley

A nice type but I felt a little long in body to what I wanted. Topline was not carried as firmly as the winner and she didn’t track as truly as the winner.

Veteran Bitch

No entries.

Challenge Bitch

A very nice line up, although not quite up to the overall quality of the dogs.
Challenge winner, Ch Hanafor Benbold Deana - her superior balance, movement and condition won her the award. Reserve was Ch Gonnylde By Figonia - carrying a little more weight than I would have liked. She was challenged strongly by the Intermediate winner, with her preferable shoulder placement giving me reason to give her the Reserve Challenge award.

Best In Show

Best in Show - Ch Hanafor Benbold Hunter.
Both dog and bitch were outstanding representatives of the breed who I feel would be competitive at both Group and In Show level at All Breeds shows. However, on the day the dog was the better showman.
