Baby Puppy Dog

5 entries, 1 absent.

1st: Orzeszko’s
Perdiz I Am Cullinan

Super baby, lots of potential, promising, correct depth and width of chest, front puppyish with good growing points, loose at the moment. Straight topline and strong quarters, covered the ground well when standing. Loved his head, length and set of ear and proportions. Outgoing personality, enjoyed the occasion, bodes well for the future. Correct coat and eye. Well handled. I fell for him.

2nd: Harris’
Hanafor Tan Torley

Not so mature as 1, needs to deepen. Attractive head, lots of promise. Held topline when all 4 feet were on ground!! Leggy at moment and enjoying life. Sympathetically handled.

3rd: Lewis’
Humeden Brandy Spirit

Larger than 1 or 2, attractive puppy with potential, hope he does not grow on too much, early days. Lovely head, lots of scope, good eye and coat colour. Well handled.

Minor Puppy Dog

No entries.

Puppy Dog

1 entry, absent.

Junior Dog

7 entries.
This was a difficult class to assess, there were 2 different types, rather too slight and rather too dark and heavy. I would have liked more of one and not so much of the other.

1st: Ellis’
Ch. Tazlon Vari Isaac

Compact and medium sized, stood ahead in this class. Correctly angulated forequarters, tight feet and pasterns. Strong quarters, correct tail set. Held his topline standing and on the move. Loved his style and type, elegant and substantial. Well handled.

2nd: Clow’s
Magyar Golden Apollo

Lighter and slighter than 1, narrower all through but with all the essentials, correct shoulder angulation, straight topline. Lovely head proportions, conforms to the standard. Good length of neck, tight feet and pasterns, correct tail set. Suspect he does not help himself, tensing up causing his back to roach. Suggest relaxing him (easier said than done). His topline will drop and his outline will be in proportion. Good temperament.

3rd: Bole-Brown’s
Hanafor Inch Nacardoch

Similar in type to 2. Elegant, narrow all through, light in colour and eye. Good in head, ear correct length, medium stop. Well muscled neck and strong topline which he held on the move. Straight front, good depth and width of chest. Would like a bit more substance and sparkle. Well handled.

Intermediate Dog

9 entries.
This class was more uniform.

1st: Harris’
Hanafor Benbold Hunter

Medium sized handsome boy. Good length of neck, head well proportioned with correct length of ear, well squared muzzle. Held his topline standing and on the move using his strong quarters to drive. Rather wide in front, shoulder angle rather straight, would like more depth of chest, thus movement rather impaired. Good temperament, well handled.

2nd: Middleton’s
Ch. Eicol The Specialist

Handsome boy, heavier than 1, strong muscular frame, well angulated forequarters and hindquarters, correct depth and width of chest. Well proportioned head, medium stop, muzzle well squared. Good coat and eye colour. Covered ground when standing and on the move, rather wide in front due to heavy shoulder. Well handled.

3rd: Crump’s
Erdos Razzle Dazzle

Would like a little less of him overall, a strong upstanding dog. Good width and depth of chest, straight topline, covered the ground well standing and on the move, well proportioned head, correct length of ear - feet not his fortune. Bit of road work might help? Well handled.

Australian Bred Dog

6 entries.
Movement was difficult to assess in this class.

1st: Sleebs’
Ch. Chambertin Able Tide

Stunning upstanding medium sized dog, showed his head off. Lovely rich coat and eye colour. Attractive head correctly proportioned. Held topline standing and on the move. Good shoulder angulation and strong quarters which he used to advantage, rather straight in stifle. Well handled, good temperament.

2nd: Harris’
Ch. Hanafor Kytoff Chtcherbo

Handsome boy, larger than 1, but not overdone, tight feet and pasterns. Good head proportions, ears set well and good length, stop well defined, muzzle well squared. Graceful length of neck, well set on to good shoulders and topline. Correct depth and width of chest, rather wide at elbow on the move. Well handled.

3rd: Tokaji Kennels’
Ch. Hanafor Simply Matyas

Medium sized sensible type, masculine and much to like about him. Lovely head proportions. Correct width and depth of chest. Rather straight in shoulder, not quite the scope of 1 and 2. Strong muscled hindquarters, good turn of stifle. Well handled and good temperament.

Open Dog

13 entries, 2 absent.

1st: O’Malley’s
Ch. Hanafor Master Callaway

One I would like to take home. I fell for him. Well up to size and everything in proportion. He has that extra something, style and ring presence. Stands well over the ground, elegant on the move. Impressive head, proportions correct, correct eye and coat colour. His movement is powerful, using his strong well angulated hind quarters to advantage. His excellent front angulation affords a flowing action holding his topline at all times. Elegant reach of neck adds to his outline. Handled with no exaggeration, the two in tune and pace correct. Altogether a pleasing picture. Pleased to give him the CC and BIS.

2nd: Webb’s
Ch. Hanafor Master Bentley

Brother of 1, excellent medium size type. Correct eye and coat colour. Stands well over the ground, well balanced. Straight front, tight pasterns and feet. Appealing head, longer in muzzle than 1. His elegant neck gives him a fluid line from occiput to tail. Moved with purpose using his strong well muscled hindquarters, not the depth of 1, gentle expression. Pleased to give him ResCC.

3rd: Orzeszko’s
Ch. Hanafor Master Gyles C.D.

All in the family, litter brother to 1 and 2. Another lovely type, smaller in frame and straighter in stifle, lots to like about him. A gentle gundog expression, ears set correctly and good length, moderate stop and muzzle square. Correct eye and coat colour. Holds his topline standing and on the move. Strong quarters allowing him plenty of drive. Well handled.

Veteran Dog

6 entries.

1st: Harris’
Ch. Gardenway Kedvenc Andes [Imp. UK]

Medium sized handsome Vizsla. Lovely type and head of correct proportions, good length of ear. Stood well over the ground, moved with drive using his well angulated quarters. Front not his fortune rather broad in shoulder. Tight feet and pasterns, elegant on the move and standing. Well handled.

2nd: Salisbury’s
Dual Ch. Hanafor Ashburton [O]

Young fit 8 year old, one to be proud of, not the clean outline nor depth of chest of 1. Straight front, correct eye and coat colour. Used his strong quarters on the move. Well handled.

3rd: Scarlett’s
Ch. Hanafor Waugh

I have to say I always get a lump in my throat in the veteran classes. This handsome vizsla with his appealing grey head showing his years. Lots to like about him, well proportioned head, correct eye and coat colour. Strong topline and quarters. Strode around the ring with good pace. Well handled.

Baby Puppy Bitch

3 entries, 1 absent.

1st: Heffernan and Bailey’s
Talberg Maja Czenzi

Gorgeous feminine baby, lots of potential, all I would like to see at this tender age. Good bone, not too much or too little. Chest well let down, good breadth. Correct shoulder angle, good reach of neck flowing into straight back. Loin short and strong with slight slope to croup. Quarters well angulated. Sweet head and soft expression. Eyes slightly oval in shape darkening nicely. Correct coat colour. Trotted out like a pro. Could have taken her home. Pleased to give her Baby Puppy in Show.

2nd: Harris’
Hanafor Tan Tui

Would like a little more of this one, gave way to a more mature puppy. Lots of potential and promise. Happy little baby giving her handler a bad time, thus difficult to assess with 1 foot on the ground!! Lovely temperament enjoying her day out. Well handled with patience.

Minor Puppy Bitch

5 entries, 1 absent.

1st: Harris’
Jasmegon Rasabee Joanna

Sweet little miss, promising. Elegant with lovely length of neck, strong topline. Stood well over the ground. Typical gundog head with kind expression. Muzzle although tapering well squared. Rather long in the leg at the moment, needs to drop. Tight feet and pasterns, well handled although over stretched at times.

2nd: O’Malley and Marsden’s
Hanafor Red Red Rose

I’ve written in my notes "great puppy, lots of presence". More mature than 1 but not the turn of stifle. Compact, stands well over the ground., well angulated forequarters all in proportion. Feminine head and sweet expression, moved stylishly and stood like a pro. Well handled.

3rd: King’s
Pretorium N Nishka

Elegant and feminine, different type, paler and narrower all through. When settled presented a lovely picture. Straight in front, tight pasterns and feet. Well angulated shoulders. Needs to deepen in chest. Attractive head correct proportions. Well handled.

Puppy Bitch

5 entries.

1st: Salter’s
Craboon Brooklyn Georgia

Mature and attractive little lady, stood well over the ground with plenty of scope. Scored in front, good length of back and turn of stifle. Won on movement, stylish and sound. Would like darker coat colour. Well handled, good temperament.

2nd: Heaft’s
Erdos Calender Girl

Similar type to 1 but less bone. Promising, well muscled young lady, flowing topline and well angulated. Straight front, tight feet and pasterns. Needs to deepen in forechest. Lovely outline when standing and on the move. Elegant neck. Eye needs to darken. Plenty of time, well handled.

3rd: Graebrook Kennels’
Graebrook Calaco Kamenka

Pretty head, good proportions and length of ear. Correct eye and coat colour. Would like more depth of chest, thus elbows look loose. Strong quarters and level topline. Well handled.

Junior Bitch

10 entries.

1st: Auricht, Townley and Trinka’s
Hanafor Balloch Tay

Lovely feminine vizsla teeming with quality. Super head and expression. She is so balanced, muscled up and fit, with her elegance presents a lovely picture. Excels in shoulder angulation, blade and upper arm (humerus) being of equal measurements as it should be. This gives her plenty of scope to flow around the ring. Her proportions are as they should be, not quadratic (Hungarian Standard) but slightly longer than length of leg. This gives the vizsla its own specific look. The distance from the withers to lowest part of chest are equal to distance from chest to ground conforming to the Standard. She has correct tuck up, eye and coat colour. Would prefer her handler not to string her up, standing or moving, her movement is inhibited and she tends to fling her front legs about hackney style, this would not stand her in good stead in the field, she would tire very quickly. Glad to make her up today.

2nd: Clow’s
Magyar Golden Amber

Stronger in type and longer in back than 1. Attractive and workmanlike vizsla, well proportioned head, well squared muzzle. Lively and gentle mannered, fir and well muscled. Strong angulated quarters with good turn of stifle. Muscled neck, rather overdone on shoulder, elbows need to tighten, thus movement inhibited in front. Well handled.

3rd: Harris’
Hanafor Cherarbi Chase

Attractive lady. Correct eye and coat colour, loved her head, good length of ear. Rather slighter and narrower than 1 or 2, lacks depth of chest. Level topline and elegant muscular neck, strong quarters. Moved with drive. Well handled.

Intermediate Bitch

10 entries, 1 absent, 1 withdrawn.

1st: Horne’s
Ch. Jyndel Magyar Okus

Elegant, attractive vizsla. Won the class on her good movement. Well proportioned head, soft expression, correct length and texture of ear, moderate stop, well squared muzzle. Level topline, plenty of depth and width of chest, good shoulder angulation. Would like more turn of stifle, rather straight. Well handled.

2nd: Neaves’
Ch. Kimlise Ronay

Attractive sensible lady. Correct head proportions, correct ear length giving that true gundog aspect. Paler in coat than 1. Needs to deepen in chest thus wide at elbows. Strong quarters with correct turn of stifle. Good temperament, well handled.

3rd: Williams’
Hanafor Benbold Breeze

Sensible and gentle vizsla, with perhaps not the flair of some, nevertheless attractive pretty head of correct proportions. Good depth and width of chest, strong quarters, tight front, pasterns and feet. Well handled.

Australian Bred Bitch

12 entries.
A difficult class, some too big, some too slight. Different types. Movement was not good.

1st: Graebrook Kennels’
Graebrook Bea Aysha

Attractive head, good proportions, correct eye and coat colour. Level topline, standing and on the move. Well angulated quarters, needs to deepen in chest thus elbows were wide standing and on the move. Tight feet and pasterns. Well handled.

2nd: Auricht’s
Ch. Rozsda Piccolo

Attractive sensible type, well proportioned head good length of ear. Darker coat than 1. Correct depth and width of chest, clean neck and level topline. Rather erratic in movement, covered the ground standing. Well handled.

3rd: Cragg’s
Ch. Hanafor Feldon Chance

Attractive compact lady, well muscled and in proportion all through. Stands well over ground, rather straight in shoulder thus inhibits driving forward on the move. Good depth of chest, well proportioned head with correct ear placement. Well handled.

Open Bitch

7 entries.
I was disappointed in the movement in this class.

1st: Staniforth’s
Ch. Hanafor Lady Steffingham C.D.X., A.D.

Lots of quality, I liked her type, has the air of sophistication and sensibility. Loved her head with true gundog proportions, lean and noble, moderate stop, skull little longer than length of muzzle. Plenty of lip and well squared at the end. Correct length of ear giving gentle aspect. Good depth of chest, tended to dip behind the withers standing. Well angulated quarters, correct turn of stifle, would prefer more length of leg. A vizsla to be proud of with her CDX, AD. Well handled.

2nd: Neaves’
Ch. Pitswarren Esther [Imp. UK]

Pregnant and on the fat side, well of course! Attractive and compact, pretty feminine head, rather straight in shoulder. Correct depth and width of chest, straight front, tight feet. Good eye and coat colour. Well handled, would like more muscle throughout.

3rd: Marsden’s
Ch. Rozsda Ruby Tuesday

Strong and upstanding, attractive head with gentle gundog expression. Well muscled all through, held topline standing and on the move, not the best of fronts, too wide. Correct eye and coat colour, good temperament, well handled.

Veteran Bitch

5 entries, 1 absent.

1st: Harris’
Ch. Hanafor Lady Wychbold

Stole my heart and the class in spite of her undercarriage. Great ring presence and style, quality bitch. Has so much that the Standard asks for. Head lean and noble. Skull a little longer than the length of the muzzle, well squared. Medium size, elegant, smooth, muscled length of neck and strong topline. Great shoulder angle, depth of chest down to elbow, strong quarters, moderate angulation, hocks well let down. Forearm long, feet and pasterns tight with spring, moved gracefully with lively trot, a sound well made Vizsla, her outline was marred by her undercarriage, maternal duties take their toll. Pleased to give her ResCC.

2nd: Alderton’s
Ch. Wimballah Abbey Gold C.D.X., E.T.

Super bitch, lots of quality and scope, head well proportioned, firm topline and good front, strong quarters moved with drive, not feeling happy today. Well handled, one to be proud of with her qualifications.

3rd: Urquhart’s
Willowbank Wild Spirit C.D.

Smaller type but well proportioned. Lots of quality, good angulation fore and aft, still holds her topline, sweet expression, moved with drive, well handled, good temperament.
