  Hungarian Vizsla Specialty Shows

Specialty shows have been conducted by the affiliated Hungarian Vizsla clubs in Australia since 1990.  From 1992 through 1999 there have been four Hungarian Vizsla Specialty Shows conducted per year in Australia, two each by the Hungarian Vizsla Club of Victoria and the Vizsla Club of New South Wales.  From 2000 a further two shows per year were added to the calendar by the newly affiliated Hungarian Vizsla Club of South Australia.

The Hungarian Vizsla Club of Victoria applied for affiliation with the state kennel control in 1989.  This was granted from 1990 and in May that year the club conducted their first Field Trial, and in October that year, their first Open Show.  The first Restricted to Breed Obedience Trial was conducted in conjunction with the championship Show in March 1994.

The Vizsla Club of New South Wales formed in 1990 and conducted their first show in September the same year.  The Vizsla Club of NSW first Restricted to Breed Obedience Trial was conducted in conjunction with the October show in 1995 and has been an annual fixture since.  The Club conducted its inaugural Tracking Trial in August 1999 and has continued to conduct these annually.  In late 1999, the Club became the Hungarian Vizsla Club of NSW and in mid 2000 became incorporated.

The Hungarian Vizsla Club of South Australia was affiliated in 1999 and conducted their inaugural Open and Championship Shows in 2000.  In 2001 the Club also conducted their first Field Trials.

In 2003, the Hungarian Vizsla Club of Queensland conducted their inaugural open show, and from 2005 have scheduled four shows per annum - two Championship and two Open Shows.
