Pond Pumps.

general view of range of hand pumps

Moving water is always an interesting feature of your pond or pool. Effects can vary from a simple spray or jet rising above the water to multi tiered cascades, water falls or running streams.

It is generally more convenient to use a submersible pump for these purposes as these are generally quieter than non-submersible types and the installation is easier. Some pumps are available in low voltage forms and do not require expensive electrical installations.

When purchasing a pump, you should always get your supplier to demonstrate it as many do not give the performance that is often listed on the box. In addition, long runs of piping can effect the flow rate. You should also note that the delivery of the water from the pump drops off as height of outlet increases above the base pool water surface. A careful study of the pump specifications with regard to this height should be made at the time of purchase. If in doubt, get your supplier to explain the characteristics of your intended purchase.

We now stock a comprehensive range of low voltage pumps. One advantage of the low voltage pumps is that complete installation can be undertaken by the customer without expensive costs of an electrician which can sometimes be necessary with 240 volt pumps.
