ANTI-ALGAE 25.000:

The Electronic Solutions For Blanket Weed.

Anti Algae 25.000

  • Keeps growth of blanket weed under control
  • Good and safe for your fish and plants
  • Suitable for ponds containing up to 25,000 litres of water
  • 100% suitable for external use according to AP65 standard
  • Clear Instructions for use

The Anti-Algae 25.000 is suitable for ponds containing up to 25,000 litres of water, and controls the growth of blanket weed, by means of magnetically-induced radio waves generated in the water using winding wires. These waves ensure that the metabolism of the blanket weed is interrupted, thus reducing algal growth. Because the radio waves operate at variable frequencies, the blanket weed cannot become immune.

There are numerous types of blanket weed some of which are easier to destroy than others. Generally speaking, the overall effect of the Anti-Algae 25.000 can only be corrected assessed after 7 weeks; however, clear results will become visible at an earlier stage. During the first 14 days, you will note the blanket weed stop growing. In the subsequent 3 to 6 weeks, the blanket weed will start to die off. It is important that you remove the dying blanket weed from the pond, to avoid them removing oxygen from the water and blocking the filter and pump.

You are also advised to give the fish little feed during this period; excess food may stimulate blanket weed growth. In a pond containing too much rotting material, problems can arise with the production of oxygen. You are therefore advised, after 14 days, to replace 25% of the pond water.

The radio waves will act on any pipe (eg; plastic, plastic and copper, etc) with the exception of lead. However, it is important that the winding wires be twisted as tightly as possible around the pipe, in order to achieve the optimum effect. The further from the pipe the wires are wound, the less effect the waves will have.

The LED display on the top of the eletronic unit will light up immediately when the Anti-Algae 25.000 is activated. This lamp indicates that the unit is emitting radio waves, which will result in the destruction of the blanket weed. AS long as the light is lit, the unit is functioning perfectly. The extinguishing of the LED lamp in an indication that the unit is no longer functioning.

    INSTALLATION:

Install the waterproof electronic unit as close as possible to the pipe. The best position for installing the Anti-Algae 25.000 is after the pump behind a UV-C appliance.

The first winding wire must always be wound in the opposite direction to the second wire. This means you should wind the first wire in a clockwise direction, and the second wire in a counter-clockwise direction. For fitting the winding wires, it is useful to first place a tie strip loosely around the pipe. Feed the winding wire between the strip and the pipe, and tighten the strip. Now, wind the wire as often as possible around the pipe, with the least possible separation (optimum = 20 windings). Now place a second tie strip around the pipe, and slide it over the end of the wire. Also tighten this strip. Repeat the procedure for the second winding wire.

    WARRANTY:

The manufacturer of the Anti-Algae 25.000 issues a 3 year warranty for the operation of the unit. It is therefore important that you carefully store your proof of purchase, clearly showing the purchase date. If the LED on the Anti-Algae 25.000 no longer lights up, within this period, on presentation of your proof of purchase you will be able to obtain a new unit.

    ALGAE CONTROL:

During the warmer months it is common to experience problems with excess algal growth. Excess nutrients in the way of plant food or overfeeding of fish can be one of the causes. Filters supplied with most pumps for the small garden pools are generally insufficient to cope with these excess algal blooms.
There are chemical which can in the short term obviate some of the problems but in a long term it is best to consider a large filter especially of the biological type. These can be placed underwater but generally are better placed above ground and hidden at the top of a waterfall or cascade. These biological filters act in some fashion like the old septic tank but on a smaller scale. They are generally very effective but their effectiveness can be enhanced by the use of an ultra violet steriliser in the line from the pump.
The effectiveness can even be further enhanced by the addition of a high frequency magnetic field again surrounding the line from or to the pump.

Cost: Cost of the components vary depending upon the pond size. Price on application.
Small ponds can use a small combined biofilter and U.V. light. Cost is $200.

Biological filter, with or without ultra violet light components, range in price depending upon your pond size. Price on application.

Using these methods our clients are reporting crystal clear water.

    EXTERNAL BIO-FILTER TECHNOLOGY:

    Bio Filter

An attractive external bio-filter is now available to help eliminate algae problems in ponds. Ideally suited for flow rates up to 3000 litres/hour, the unit resembles a ceramic pot although it is plastic fabricated. It is designed to sit externally to the pond with the return water being directed through the exit tube and down a cascade. The cover is designed to hold earth or potting mix so that plants may be grown to help disguise the overall appearance of the filter. Internally, a spray bar directs water through a filter media which acts in conjunction with bio- block activators. Users report very satisfactory results.

    BIO SUPER CONCENTRATE:

This is a harmless bacteria additive which, when added to you pond, effictively reduces nitrite levels and other high nutrient levels which cause algae blooms. It has been effectively used in the Darling Harbour lake in Sydney. Other users report cleaner water, low nitrite levels and healthier fish.
The BSC can be mixed in a bucket of water and added directly to your pond. Algae blooms can be even more effectively controlled by adding a UV control agent, Magic Blue at the same time.

    COST:

    BIO SUPER CONCENTRATE-
    20MGS (small pond) $10
    40MGS (medium pond) $20
    100 MGS (large pond) $40

    MAGIC BLUE- $10

    POND BALANCE:

Pond balance is a chemical which safely and gradually adjusts the water chemistry of your pond, achieving a balance which promotes plant growth and creates unsuitable conditions for blanket weed. It is harmless to fish and other delicate water creatures and does not discolour water or affect Bio Filters. Available in varying sizes to treat even very large ponds.
